I was truly honored to receive an invite to create my version of the classic cocktail "The Last Word". I'm delighted when a crusade is started to simply make people happy. Sure there are seasons for giving to charity, fighting for what you believe in spiritually, morally or politically, but I believe a great cocktail can create friendships and moments that can change the world. I'm a devoted Christian man, I have been since I was pretty young, but the common thread of a good drink is community. The opportunity to discuss what you love and what pisses you off around friends, new or old. I'm a believer that Jesus didn't just turn water into wine, Jesus turned water into really good wine. Creating a space for love, creativity, passion and world changers. Not settling, creating for the sake of loving and serving others. And this is why I love to make a good cocktail...for my friends...and occasionally for me.

This is the peace Jesus promises. John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

For this lovely classic beverage, I decided to keep it indeed somewhat classic. However, I decided to take it from the French region slightly to the south and the right and give it an Italian bent. I replaced the Chartreuse with one of my favorites, Liquor Strega. Sure, she's a witch, but dang...I fell under her spell as I delicately and obsessive compulsively mixed this angelically evil concoction. You'll experience the sweetness of her lure at the first sip, but then start to question all of your "good choices" when the wacky witchy womanly herbs settle on the sides and back of your tongue. Sound pretentious? It's actually pretensulicious! Make this drink as soon as your guests arrive and you will surely make wonderful friends...evil, wicked and sweet friends! Peace to you. Tim.
